I had to rotate my artwork in software and upload it, thinking that there was no possible way of doing so on site. Until I came to the realization that it showed a orientation option in the order log. Looking into it apparently the option comes after your proof has been given and you must provide it on the proof page. this seems very unintuitive to me, the intuitive placement should either be the product page or the artwork upload page. I can understand why you wouldn't want it on the product page as to limit options and make it faster to order. But it should come before proofs or even check out of the cart.
